Tonight zq doing the dinner. We have ma po tofu, fried minced meat dipped in eggs & vege. Quite nice, cooking improved though is a bit salty. He said he wan to prepare more healthy food but the tofu does not looks healthy...=P

Going karaoke with my badminton group though not all can make it. Liyun & elise brought their kids, thus this is the first time i go karaoke with little kids. Ha.. we managed to sing while let them hv their fun ;) After which we hv curry fishhead & other nice foods & went GB's new flat to watch video.

Is a day to rest, do some housework and i spend the early part of the day with my parents as they visit my flat. Have told zq i craved for strawberry shortcake and he secretly go and buy it back...=.= It can be fattening but once in a while shd be fine la. :p

Go clubbing with a big grp of gals at double O. Esther back from germany and pre-request to go clubbing together with the gals, thus everyone is prepared for fun for the night. too bad there is event till late hrs bef we really hv some fun.

Christmas Eve is here!
Today is christmas eve...Merry Christmas to U & Yr family!
Yesterday a busy day for mi, cos i'm baking, earring on the same day...hee ya, i just enjoyed the whole process. =D Have baked the Oatmeal-Raisin cookies, thnks to aimei's recipe :) Actually, it have been some years since i baked cookies cos the last round when i jus started out baking then, the cookies failed badly. This round, i really like the cookies done by aimei, and wan to give it a try too. And i quite happy with the result. Maybe can try some more cookies in the future. After which, i meet up with tammy & JL for dinner, shopping, drinking & "picturing".
They are being wrapped up nicely as gifts ;)

Block Leave!
Yeah, start my block leave today and only start work next year =P Feel sooooo good! =D
After working for so many years, this is the first year i get to take long leave during Christmas season. I remember there was once in Christmas season when i got to man the booth at Taka for the game we selling, working past Christmas eve and went home at 4am on Christmas day. For the rest, rushing project is a norm.
Today, have a gd lunch with liyun and go shopping with her from noon till late evening. And i meet up with zq later and continue shopping till nite time =P Make a no. of purchases...Mango sales, as well as trade in for Levis jean with old jean, discounted $50, christmas gifts for the childrens :)
Oh brought camera but too bad the battery die off after a few shots, no chance to take pic of 2 persons.

13 Dec 2008 Dinner
Tonight prepared the chicken, mushroom pot, spicy sour prawns and asparagus. Hmm...lst time do the chicken, mushroom, not as tasty as wat i wan, still got room for improvement.

Been sometime didn't blog...been attending 4 weddings in 2 weeks time, plus farewell, christmas gatherings. Look like i have been spending at least 1 weeks having lunch/ dinner gathering, on top of growing fat, also going broke =P But is the Christmas season! I just like the feel of Christmas =)

GB's Hen Nite
Last Fri evening we have a Hen nite's celebration for GB (lady in yellow top) at "The Pump Room" in clarke quay, as she going to be wedded coming Sat. Luckily reservation have been made, as is fully booked. We have dinner, dessert and drinks there from evening till late nite. There are lots of laughter, fun and drinks. GB was invited by an angmo to dance on the stage and she gamely take it on and also rece some kisses as well..hee. The bill came up to an amt after ordering quite a num of drinks but is once in a life time for her and we really enjoyed the nite, so y not ;)

Pots of flowers
This week, the days passed very slowly. Maybe from this week onwards, i will be doing something diff, i have a change in dept and job scope and the job is still very new to me. Maybe my ex-team which i have jus started to build a bond, have moved on and i started to miss them. Or the recent economic crsis which caused many stress and sadness among the people i know. Or all of the above.
Thus when weekends come, i treasured every minutes of it and it gone by very fast. On Sat, i have gone to Far East Flora with the intention of getting some pots of green to bring some life to my flat. In the en
d, i bought 2 pots of blooming flowers. They are very beautiful and sweet, hope it will bring some colors to my life to face the challenge ahead. :)

Food in the North
Sat morning, we visit 2 places for the sake of nice food, is near our place in the north. Here's the intro to these yummy food, check it out:
First, we drive to the woodlands industrial park (jus 5mins drive from our flat) to search for the factory outlet that sell japanese seafood products like salmon, tuna at very cheap prices. Zq managed to find it and i bought a whole packet of tune belly (more than 10 pieces), smoke salmon, wasabi and sashimi soya sauce, total abt $19 plus. For tuna belly, i remember we saw it priced @ $12.00 for 5 pieces in a Jap restaurant. The factory outlet is called Fassler. Addr: 46 woodlands Terrace. Sat only open to 12:30pm and weekdays to 5pm.
Next, we go to Shun Fu market hawker center for breakfast (is near to Upper Thomson CC), there are nice breakfast there and you could see long queue for the roasted duck & pork rice/ noodle stall also. Nowadays, you could find people selling muffins, pastries in hawker center. I bought a choc muffin and a apple raisin pie. The muffin is soft and yummy. Stall name: Chocolat N Spice. Addr: Blk 320, #02-12 Shunfu Rd (Shunfu Mart) S(570320).

Earring ~ for YN
Another colleague is leaving and was told her last day is tomo, thus i rush to do up a pair of earring for her tonight. The situation is bad recently and the fear of not securing the rice bowl is in the air. After a chat with a colleague, i'm encourage by his positive attitude. Most important is knowing where we wan to head to, aim and shoot more arrows, we would definitely hit 1 or 2 targets at the end of the day. Yup :) life still goes on, so stay positive and employable. 27 Oct 08 Dinner
Sichuan, pork rib and carrot soup

* A tip for preparing the meat. Rub it with salt and leave for a few minutes. Rinse off and blanch with hot water to get rid of the weird raw taste. You dont need to add salt when making soup as the meat would have absorbed the salt you rubbed it with earlier.
* Wash the Sichuan vegetables to remove the chilli. Slice into 1/2cm-thick slices. Soak them in a bowl of water for 1 hour, but change the water every 20 minutes (ie. 3 batches of water) to reduce the saltiness of the vege.
Mixed Vegge:

Cost only $2 in Sheng Shiong supermarket and come with white cabbage, tomato, mini corn, green bean, slices carrot. Fried it with oyster sauce, a bit of salt, pepper, soya sauce, half cup of water.

Visting the Zoo...
Today i have organised a family outing to the zoo...there are some dizzling in the beginning but luckily it stop. We have followed the animals feeding schedule & their showtime to go round the zoo and saw more actions from them than usual. Ann have packed some nice cute sandwiches comes in the shape of dinosaurs, pooh bear in ham and cheese, plus baby carrots, cucumber and tomatos plus rebina drinks for us to do a mini picinc, while i contributed the strawberries....hmm healthy & nice :p
We came to a place that kept only 2 goats and their 3-days old (told by the zookeeper) new born goats. The 2 little black goats was released by the zookeeper to roam around the area and amazingly we saw the mother goat stand tall over the fence looking out for her little ones. The father goat also paced near the fence. The animals like human also have the parental touch in them :)
By end of the trip, we are all tired from a whole day walk and go for a nice dinner @ thai resturant. The last time when i go to the zoo with my family is when dad & mum brought us there when we are still kids. I'm tagged.
Have agreed to play the tagging game, which i'm being tagged by my dear frn and need to reply 20 random facts….thus here’s my reply after much procrastination.
1) Fact one is I dun really like to be tagged. Hmm…if I rece any email or sms which asked me to fwd to 5 or more people else i be cursed or not get the blessing, I have dutifully deleted the email or msg and spared all my frns from it … hee same for this tagging game =P
2) I like and tried my hands on a lot of things...e.g. baking, beads making, flower arrangement and knitting but never really good in any of them.
3) I find simple joy in life...e.g. nice weather, a nice cup of coffee =D
4) I love to drink coffee brew from normal coffee shop that serve in traditional coffee cup, not starbuck or coffee beans type. That’s why I rece a traditional coffee cup for Christmas once =P For good coffee, I will faithfully try to visit the stall everyday (near working place) till I found another better dose.
5) I'm a peace lover, never like to make enemy and once have the belief that if I’m kind to everyone, they will be kind to me as well ...but realized the world does not work like that.
6) I dun play role playing games, e.g. maple story which is the fav of many of my frns. Maybe i dun have the patient to gain pts by wracking a monster or solving a quest. I prefer games which give result immediately, e.g. shooting game or the bowling game I hooked on to in Face book recently.
7) I dun read instruction manual.
8) I scare of cockroaches, esp. the flying one...Heeelp. And they have some fun scaring me when I throw rubbish at the common rubbish chute sometime ...*sign
9) I did not take up driving as i want to emitted the chance of having someone get hitted by me on the road...all of you are saved :)
10) I organize badminton games on every Sunday morning from around 11 to 1 plus for past 4 years....but I’m still not good at the game =p
11) I like rainy days esp. when I’m in door, i like the feel and think that is romantic.
12) I never finish the full course of medication when I’m sick. Usually I consumed for the first or sec day and let myself recover naturally thereafter...unless is antibiotics.
13) I like cleanliness but lazy to do housework...ha
14) I enjoy outdoor activities. E.g. badminton, table tennis, tennis, volley ball, netball, swimming, cycling, canoeing, kite flying, roller blade…etc
15) The ball game I like best is table tennis cos is fast and is fun!
16) I feel blessed to have my wonderful family and zq there for me :)
17) I like Christmas Eve...maybe Santa Claus will grant me a wish on that day =P
18) The fact is I’m running out of facts...hmm…fact 18, I love nature too :)

Girls Nite Out
Meet up with JL n TM for dinner as well as clubbing at double O. Think lst time go Fri nite, need to pay cover charge n drinks, the place was packed and still quite awake after sharing 3 jugs of diluted Vodka except tired. Sorry ladies, think i got no stamina...hee old liao =P Glad that TM is facing everything quite bravely & decisive, jia you!

Catch the movie - 20th Century Boys (Jap movie) with zq today. Have high expectation as we thought it will be as good as Death Note series but is still a bit far from it. But the plot is not bad though, will wan to catch the sec series.

Amore's Woman Day Out 2008
Have joined the Amore's Woman Day Out 2008 yesterday, where JL, her sis and me done 3hrs of aerobic exercise at the open space in front of Taka. Except badminton on every Sun, have not done exercise on stamina for abt 2 mths. Thus, my body ache all over today. x} But it was fun and i enjoyed the whole session esp the kickboxing. And i feel good after sweating it out. :)

05 Oct 2008 Dinner
Zq doing dinner tonight again. For healtier choice & with jap craze, we decided to have fried salmon, udon in miso soup and fish cake which are prepared by him. I added on the salad. Quite filling, like the taste of udon as well as the salmon.
Recently been real busy with work and having taking up a new role, the stress level is there. I'm eager for the challenge and the whole team are in full gear for the work schedule ahead as well. But unexpected things do happen, on fri we are told that there is a change in the direction...again. Maybe is the recent economic climate, hopefully things are going for the right direction. *Hold breath

28 Sep 2008 - Dinner
Tonight i do some cooking...fry vege with tofu, steam chinese sausage in dark soya sauce and herbal chicken soup again =P Ok, why are we always cooking the herbal chicken soup..haa thats a story behind it. Cos when we lst moved in, we have cook the first yummy package herbal chicken soup which taste & smell so good that we attempt to do it again. But up till today, we couldn't find that particular taste from the various packaging that we try, maybe the herbal combination is jus not the correct mix. Today one is consider the closest. We think the chinese herbal "Yu4 Zhu2" make the diff in the taste.
By pass city hall mrt on Fri evening and could feel the excitement from the crowd and see a lot more of the foreigners....yup due to the F1 race that held in SG. I'm no fan of the race but was impressed with the racing car that display in Raffles City, looks quite cool and took a photo of it. Have watch the final from the tv and i think SG have done a gd job in hosting the lst night race ever. :)
